ROM OFA Fair (Winsdown Albert x Champion Davenitch Coedwig Blue Violet) Legendary Lilac As professionals, we carefully plan our breedings; doing genetic screenings, calculating the odds of phenotype vs. genotype, and generally trying to make the most intelligent choices. But no matter how smart we are, we always need an element of luck for a truly successful breeding. |
| Our Lilac is a perfect example of such luck! Her mother, Violet, was "leased" from Connie Whan of the Davenitch prefix. Her father, Albert, is a lovely tricolor bred and owned by Winsdown Cardigans. We were blessed to have Albert's help, since his owners stopped showing Cardigans in the late 1970s, and he had become more beloved pet than stud dog. (Albert goes back to some of our all-time favorites: Brig, Simon, Flair, and Dichromate, to name a few.) |  |

Lilac showed promise from the very start, and demonstrated fantastic movement at only 9 weeks old! While still a puppy, she was awarded Best in Sweepstakes at the California Specialty, under breeder judge Helen Jones. She looks good coming and going, and has effortless reach and drive. While she's never been specialed, she does something more important -- Lilac produces specials! (Her most notable offspring is our very own Carbon, ROM BIS BISS.) |
| Interestingly, we've allowed many of her lovely show-quality puppies to grace pet homes, with no regrets. We're confident that these dogs also serve as excellent ambassadors for the breed! |  Shown winning Best in Sweeps under Helen Jones |

Lilac is a breeder's dream come true --
she's lovely, she produces lovely children, and her children in turn
are producing lovely children. Her descendants are also doing
very well in the ring. Her grandson Laser and granddaughter Snow White have recently qualified for their ROM status. Sometimes you get lucky, and Lilac is proof of that! |

Champion Sterling's Roodle Doodlemann X Lilac This typey, massive-boned boy had both of his majors at 6 months! His crowning glory was Winners Dog at the huge Del Val Specialty, under Corgi specialist Sandra Wolfskill (of the famed Elfwish prefix). |
