Best in Show! Thank you, Mr. Leslie Rogers! |
Carbon has enjoyed an illustrious show career with his buddy and handler, Ron Buxton. He's now retired from the show ring, except for occasional Specialties. This super blue boy is one of the breed's all-time top winners. He's been given the nod by both breeder judges and all-arounders alike. |
Still winning at 10 years old! |

We so appreciate the fancy's support, and thank all the wonderful judges who have awarded our favorite boy! He's the winner of 26 herding groups, but more importantly, he's the winner of many more hearts! |

Carbon started his show career out with a bang by going BOB over top specials at a supported entry at the tender age of 6 months and a few days old. Although his ring accomplishments included multiple specialty wins, an all-breed Best in Show, the Pedigree Award (twice), and number one all systems, his real power has been in his producing abilities. Every breeders dream is to produce lovely dogs whose children also go on to produce lovely dogs. Carbon has done just that! He is one of only a few ROMG stud dogs who has also produced an ROMG offspring (Laser). Carbon has many other ROM children who are also producing ROM get themselves. Carbon continues to be prepotent for lovely heads and breed type, long necks with correctly angled and placed shoulders, level toplines, large round bone with good feet, correct tail sets, good to excellent movement, and wonderful temperaments. Carbon is the #1 producer in breed history, and the only blue merle in the top 10! |

Ultimately, a dog is not judged by his achievements in the ring, but by
what he achieves as a producer. Carbon has the best of both worlds --
as a top winner and as a super producer! Carbon |
Carbon is famous
for his fantastic movement.

Thank you Gerald Schwartz for this prestigious win! Carbon is linebred (6 times in 7 generations) on Ch. Talbot's Pilot Programme, who himself is behind most of the breed's BIS winners. |
Carbon takes B.O.B. at Westminster, 1999 If you're looking for a beautiful Cardigan with high intelligence and a super personality, consider a Carbon puppy! We would be more than happy to refer you to other breeders who have recent litters by him. |

Just as glamorous as ever, at age 11! |
Carbon still has a pretty face at 11!!! |
Carbon and his best friend Q, both 11+ years old! |
Sadly, we
lost our wonderful Carbon in April 2010. His passing was peacefully
aided by our Veterinarian. He was 15 years old, and had "let us know"
it was time for him to go. Carbon was Rin Tin Tin, Lassie, and Old
Yeller, rolled into one very magical dog. We were blessed to be his
feederwalkers for 15 fantastic years. I would describe him as a one in a
million dog. Really. But, you had to meet him to know why! He was sweet
and loving to all whom he met, loved all puppies, and up to the day we
lost him, would sleep with puppies piled all over him. We used to say
that puppies were Carbon's fountain of youth. Most of Carbon's children
inherited his wonderful good nature and comic personality. We are lucky
to have his children here, and through his frozen semen, hope to have
many more in years to come. We miss you Carbon!
